Senior Systems and Cloud Engineer
- Brought in to transition Central Health's cloud infrastructure from external contractors to internal ownership, completing the technical handoff and developing the Terraform, architecture, operational, and institutional knowledge required to independently manage the environment.
- Assumed hands-on responsibility for infrastructure including landing zones, networking, identity integration, infrastructure-as-code, Linux and Windows workloads, security controls, operational documentation, and production support.
- Planned and executed the migration of cloud workloads and supporting infrastructure from South Central US to Central US, coordinating Terraform changes, network dependencies, application validation, data movement, and production cutover activities.
- Designed cloud landing zones, deployment workflows, network boundaries, identity controls, and infrastructure standards to support the separation of Sendero from the Central Health environment.
- Established a disaster recovery environment in US East 2, including recovery architecture, infrastructure provisioning, data protection requirements, failover planning, operational procedures, and readiness documentation.
- Led the OvalEdge data governance platform implementation from initial planning through production maturity, including infrastructure design, vendor coordination, Linux and application support, backups, monitoring, security integration, and disaster recovery readiness.
- Implemented an internal AI-assisted knowledge system capable of answering operational and technical questions using approved organizational documentation as its reference corpus.
- Created cloud security, NIST control, and threat visibility dashboards to centralize compliance evidence, infrastructure findings, operational risk, and remediation status.
- Supported security investigations involving cloud activity, system access, audit records, authentication events, network behavior, log correlation, and preservation of technical evidence.
- Repurposed existing server and domain infrastructure to build an internal OpenStack private cloud for private workloads, infrastructure testing, and reduced dependence on public-cloud resources.
- Partnered with an AI technology vendor to design and stand up a production Kubernetes environment, including cluster architecture, networking, access controls, storage, deployment coordination, operational readiness, and Helm-based application configuration.
- Operate hybrid workloads spanning Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, OpenStack, VMware, Kubernetes, and traditional Linux and Windows infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain Terraform modules, Azure DevOps pipelines, GitHub Actions workflows, architecture standards, runbooks, and technical training materials supporting repeatable and auditable operations.
- Administered several hundred Linux systems across cloud, on-premises, and LightEdge data center infrastructure, primarily Ubuntu and Rocky Linux, supporting OvalEdge, PAM services, databases, document management, medical applications, Kubernetes infrastructure, and internal platform services.
